Dallas Selects Returns from Hiatus with Renewed Focus and Continued Impact

Dallas, TX — After a six-month strategic hiatus, DSR is proud to announce its official return—refocused, reenergized, and stronger than ever. While programming may have paused, the organization remained fully engaged behind the scenes, continuing its work in mentorship, community service, and organizational growth.

Throughout the break, we have remained deeply rooted in its mission of serving youth through mentorship and sport. The organization maintained its presence across the DFW area by partnering with impactful organizations such as Trusted World, a nonprofit that supplies essential resources to those in need, and United Way, known globally for improving lives through education, financial stability, and health initiatives. These collaborations allowed DSR to continue providing vital volunteer services during a time of transition.

Meanwhile, DSR’s coaching staff continued to mentor student-athletes as they prepared for the next stage in life. Several DSR graduates are now pursuing higher education, backed by years of support and leadership. Coaches DK Abdiyah and Greg Chavez traveled to Tampa Bay to coach the U18 boys’ team at Tropical 7s under the elite Gorilla Rugby program—finding success on the field while expanding DSR’s national reach.

DSR also expanded its network through a promising collaboration with the EA Bombers, a local organization focused on athletic excellence and community development. This partnership has opened new opportunities for shared training and mentorship across both rugby and soccer platforms.

One of the most significant milestones during this period was DSR’s achievement in securing federal recognition as a tax-exempt organization, strengthening the foundation for long-term sustainability and growth. This status allows DSR to pursue broader funding opportunities and serve communities at a greater capacity.

As DSR reintroduces its public programming—including the highly anticipated Fall Ball rugby season and Elite FC soccer program—the organization proudly reaffirms its commitment to developing disciplined, purpose-driven youth. Guided by a clear mission and deeply rooted values, DSR is moving forward as a Christ-led mentorship organization dedicated to lasting impact.
