Coach Aaron Rego’s rugby story is one of adventure, discipline, and a lifelong commitment to the sport. His journey began in an unexpected place—while stationed with the U.S. Army in Georgia. What started as a casual introduction quickly evolved into a lifelong passion, leading him to join the Savannah Shamrocks, his first rugby family. This was just the beginning. In the 90s, Aaron’s military service took him to South Korea, where he continued his rugby journey with the Seoul Survivors, building friendships and memories that would shape his approach to the game and life.

Over the years, Aaron’s passion and talent for rugby led him to play with the Old Boys club of the Irish Greyhounds in Boston. After his playing career, Aaron transitioned into coaching, bringing his extensive knowledge and experience to young players in Texas. He has coached high school rugby programs at Allen and Plano High Schools, becoming a respected figure in the Dallas-Fort Worth rugby scene. Additionally, Aaron has worked with high-performance programs across the DFW area, where he’s backed emerging talents and shared his dedication to the sport.

With decades of rugby experience and a disciplined background rooted in his time with the U.S. Army, Aaron brings a level of commitment and resilience to his coaching that is truly unmatched. His training style combines structure with encouragement, motivating each player to reach their full potential both on and off the field. Known for his ability to inspire young athletes, Aaron has become a cherished beacon, not only because of his technical delivery but also for his cunning ability to personally connect to his players on a with humor, pushing them to be the best versions of themselves.
