Fall Ball Official Registration Has Opened & More: Houston Sabercats U18
Dallas Select Recruits has officially opened registration for its Fall Ball season, a youth rugby competition running from November through early January. Fall Ball keeps players in action during rugby’s offseason, but this year brings something extra special: selected athletes will travel to Houston to face off against the Houston Sabercats’ U18 squad, one of Texas’ premier youth rugby teams associated with the professional U.S. competition, Major League Rugby (MLR).
The Houston Sabercats have made their mark on the MLR, known for cultivating talent and energizing Texas’ rugby scene. A matchup with their U18 team represents a significant opportunity for DSR players, exposing them to high-level competition and professional team culture. Fall Ball participants will begin with intensive training sessions, leading up to team divisions in December for intra-squad matches. Throughout the season, the coaching staff will identify standout players to face the Sabercats in Houston, with the top 23 performers ultimately playing in the final exhibition game to conclude the season.
For players, the Fall Ball program costs $165, with a convenient monthly payment option of $95. The season will start with training sessions, preparing athletes for December’s team selections. Then, players will be divided into teams to compete, leading to the final selection of those who will represent DSR in Houston.
Official registration is now open, and DSR is calling on young athletes across the Dallas area to take part in this rare opportunity to develop their skills, bond with teammates, and earn the chance to compete against the Sabercats’ U18 squad. This competition promises not only to elevate players’ skills but also to strengthen youth rugby’s presence and influence in Texas.
